Computers on ISC

• There are many computer players with different levels running on ISC all the time : Alehin , Zurix , Nicosia and Keres -- for expert players , Solmyr , Betty and Mosorel -- for intermediate players , Yog , Bamse and Adela - for beginners. All comps are using the same search engine , the difference is given by how they choose the plays. Alehin always makes the best move , Keres choose randomly a plays from the interval 1 - 8 , and so on. Computers never play phony words , so it's useless to challenge their play.
• There is another computer called Examiner that also runs all the time. Every game examined on site is 'watched' by Examiner. You can ask him to tell you what words can be played in a certain position by clicking on the [Plays] button.
Playing against a computer

• To see what computers are running type 'Who C' . If they don't have a (*) after their name you can start a game by clicking on their name and selecting [Match] from menu. The game will start immediately with the time controls and the dictionary that you proposed.
• You can also start a game by accepting their seek requests. Every time a computer is free sends a seek request. To see all seek requests type 'sought' . If you accept their seek request the game will have the time controls and dictionary proposed by computer.
NOTE: The computer player will put you in its noplay list for about a week if you abort a game.
